I love being around birds of prey, I feel like a completely different person when I'm around them I have chosen to make a new DeviantArt ID to represent my love for birds of prey

The pictures I have chosen to represent my recent wildlife adventures are:
November 2011 - My Wildlife Rehabilitation class took a trip to learn from a master falconer. We learned about what to do when coming across a bird of prey and took a walk in the forest with his one of his Harris Hawk, taking turns landing him on our hand. This was one of the most amazing moments of my time in college, I still get the smile just thinking about holding him.
March 2012 - The same master falconer came to visit our Wildlife Rehabilitation class at our college to have a hands-on workshop with his birds and learn more about falconry and how the knowledge would benefit rehabilitating wild birds. We had the opportunity to handle one of his yearly Harris Hawks and again, it's a whole different and amazing feeling to be so close to the birds and I never have felt more myself than when I am holding one.
October 2012 - My Dad's friend came across an injured Red Tailed Hawk in our town. I am the go-to person with anything that involved wildlife when it comes to anyone who knows me or my family. I picked up the hawk from my Dad's friend's house and we personally transported him to a rehabilitation facility where we knew he would get the best care possible. A week later the centre called me back and said he was able to be released so I went to pick him up and bring him back near the place he was found. I held him for a few moments to check his feathers and to say a few words farewell and he just stared at me right in the eyes the entire time. It was like he knew all along that we were helping and it was such an amazing feeling to be able to let him go and watch him fly off into the skies where he belonged.
