Tonight, Friday April 15th at 2:20am, marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Of a total of 2,223 people aboard Titanic only 706, less than a third, survived and 1,517 perished in the below-freezing temperatures of the Atlantic Ocean waters. A ticket in 1912 would have cost $4,375 ($99,237 today) Of the 64 lifeboats that were supposed to be on the ship, only 20 were installed for more deck space.
Let us remember those lost at sea on that fateful night.
